  • Will I bulk up if I use a whole scoop every day?

    Protein needs are based on body size (weight) and activity level. Eating Vega Sport® Performance Protein provides 30g of protein. To determine your protein needs: 1.   Start with your weight in kilograms (divide your weight in pounds by 2.2) 2.   Multiply your weight by: 1.   Adult Men and Women: 0.8 g/kg/day 2.   Endurance-trained athletes: 1.1 to 1.2 g/kg/day 3.   Strength-trained athletes: 1.2 to 1.5 g/kg/day The number you get equals the number of grams of protein you need in a day. You can divide that number into your average number of meals per day to figure out approximately how much protein you need at each meal. 

  • Why doesn’t Vega Sport Performance Protein contain hemp protein?

    While we think hemp is a pretty awesome source of plant-based protein, we wanted to give athletes assurance that all products in the Vega Sport system would be safe to use both in training and competition. In order to obtain third-party certification with Informed Choice, Vega chose to remove hemp protein powder from Vega Sport Performance Protein. (Even though hemp protein has an infinitesimally small THC content—less than 1.5 parts per million—unlikely to register on most substance tests, Informed Choice and other third-party sport supplement certifiers have a zero-tolerance policy for any hemp ingredients).  

  • How much caffeine is in Mocha flavored Vega Sport Performance Protein?

    Vega Sport Performance Protein Mocha flavor contains approximately 13.4 mg of naturally occurring caffeine, primarily from cocoa powder. As reference, one 8 oz/250ml cup of coffee has between 100 and 135 mg of caffeine in it.

  • Why do the instructions say mix with a non-dairy beverage? Can I mix it with milk?

    We love non-dairy beverages such as almond, hemp, coconut, or rice milk (to name a few) mixed with Vega Sport Performance Protein, but if you only have milk in your fridge, go for it!

  • What’s the difference between Vega Sport Performance Protein and whey protein?

The high-quality stevia we’ve used in Vega Sport Performance Protein can’t be tasted by even the biggest stevia-taste-haters at Vega HQ. If you can still taste the stevia, try adding a squirt of lemon juice or a handful of dark leafy greens to your Vega Sport Performance Protein shake.  

  • Why is xanthan gum added?

    Xanthan gum is a complex carbohydrate used in Vega Sport Performance Protein to provide a thick, satisfying mouthfeel.   

  • Where are the ingredients sourced from?

    More than 68% of the primary suppliers for ingredients in Vega Sport Performance Protein are from North America. Additionally, we use some ingredients from Europe (such as organic sunflower seed protein) and Brazil (stevia).    

  • Sometimes I like to drink a protein powder before I work out. Can I use Vega Sport Performance Protein before even though it has recovery ingredients in it?
